How we checked
We started from the blogs that rank on Google for this search, the published lists (Feedspot, Knytstudio, Lord Libidan's top 50, Stitching Daily) and the blogrolls on the blogs themselves, which gave 46 candidates. For each, we loaded the site on 24 September 2026 and took the date of the newest post from its RSS or Atom feed, or from the blog page where no feed was reachable. Domain rating comes from the Ahrefs API.
Blogs hosted on Blogger show Blogger's own domain rating, which says nothing about the blog, so the table marks them as Blogger blogs instead of printing a number. Shops with no blog, and accounts that live only on Instagram, YouTube or Etsy, are left out.
Three kinds of cross stitch blog
The list splits cleanly, and the split decides what each blog is useful for:
- Independent editorial blogs such as Lord Libidan, CraftGossip Cross-Stitch, Sirious Stitches and Mr X Stitch. They review tools and patterns, round up news and write about the hobby itself. These are the ones that link out and take suggestions.
- Designer and shop blogs, about half the list: Lesley Teare, Jane Greenoff, Caterpillar, Trouvaille, Lindy Stitches, Dandelion Stitchery and others. They post new releases, tutorials and freebies around their own charts and kits.
- Stitching diaries on Blogger and similar: A Kiwi Stitching, Priscillas, Stitching Dreams, Serendipitous Stitching, Pinker n Punkin. Short, frequent posts of starts, finishes and rotations. A Kiwi Stitching is the result Google ranks first for this search.
For readers, the diaries are the most personal and the most frequent. For a brand, the editorial blogs are the realistic place to be reviewed, and the designer blogs are potential partners rather than publishers.
Who says they welcome collaborations
Only a handful say so on their own pages. In their words, checked 24 September 2026:
- CraftGossip Cross-Stitch: its contact page names an editor for "product review enquiries, link suggestions and ideas", with separate contacts for advertising and sponsored content. The clearest route on this list.
- Lord Libidan: the contact page invites messages "or even for collaborative projects".
- Studio Koekoek (Netherlands): "We also welcome creative bloggers to contact us for collaborations."
- Jane Greenoff keeps a Collaborations page listing the makers she works with.
- Mr X Stitch invites artists who would like to be featured, and mentions advertising rates.
- Caterpillar Cross Stitch has a press page for interviews and talks with its founder.
Most of the designer blogs offer a contact form and nothing more, and the Blogger diaries state nothing at all. Sirious Stitches discloses that it uses affiliate links, which is worth knowing before you ask for a review.
Well-known blogs that have gone quiet
These still appear on older lists and in blogrolls, but have not posted in years (last post from each site's own feed):
- Stitch Palettes, August 2021
- Lizzie*Kate Blog, October 2020
- The Cross Stitching Librarian, April 2019
- With Thy Needle and Thread, October 2018
- My Southern Porch, May 2018
- Threadwork Primitives, May 2018
- Reading and Stitching, January 2018
- The Diary of a Cross Stitch Addict, June 2017
- Pat's Cross-Stitch Corner, whose blog page now says it has been removed
Two sites that rank for this search are not in the table. The Stitching Corner's newest post we could find is from April 2023. The Proper Stitcher blocked our check, so we could not read a date; that is not the same as inactive.
The other cross stitch blog lists, dated
| List | Last updated |
|---|---|
| Feedspot, 40 Best Cross Stitch Blogs | 2 July 2026 |
| Knytstudio, 50 Cross Stitch Blogs Worth Following | 22 February 2026 |
| Lord Libidan, The Top 50 Cross Stitch Blogs | April 2025 |
| Stitching Daily, 10 Cross Stitch Blogs That Will Inspire You | Could not check |
| Feedspot, Top 60 Cross Stitch Blogs in the US | Could not check |
Longer lists carry more dormant blogs along with the live ones. Nine of the 46 blogs we opened had not posted since 2021, so check the date before you follow or pitch anything from a list, this one included.
How to pitch a cross stitch blog
Lead with the chart, not the brand. Editorial blogs here review patterns, kits and tools; send the thing, or a free copy of the chart, with one line on what is different about it.
Match the blog's kind. A stitching diary will show a finish; it will not write a review. A designer blog may want a joint freebie or a stitch-along rather than a mention.
Check the last post first. A pitch to a blog that last posted in 2018 is time lost on both sides, and older lists are full of them.
The same approach works across small hobby niches: our guides to embroidery blogs and macrame blogs apply it to neighbouring crafts, and how to collaborate with bloggers covers the pitch itself. Finding and pitching sites like these, then handling the replies, is what MentionAgent automates.
