EIN Presswire Review: Pricing, Pickup and Alternatives
EIN Presswire is a self-serve press release wire run by Newsmatics Inc. that sells releases from $149 and syndicates each one to AP News, US TV station sites and hundreds of partner news sites. Every price, policy and review below was checked at its source on 6 October 2026.
A cheap way to get a release onto AP News and hundreds of news sites: $149, against $659 for Newswire.com's AP tier. It buys a public, dated announcement, not coverage or backlinks: links are nofollow and pickup is not promised.
Legit? Yes. It is a real wire run by Newsmatics Inc., and the release we checked did appear on AP News and hundreds of partner sites. The complaints are about rejections, refunds and results.
Price: $149 for one release, $66.60 each in a 15-pack. Every package uses the same channels. Details
Reviews: 3.6 on Trustpilot from 177 reviews, split 51% five-star and 44% one-star; 4.5 on G2 from 187. Details
Alternatives: MentionAgent for links from niche blogs, PRWeb ($120), eReleases ($399), Newswire.com ($659). Compare
We opened all 855 copies listed in EIN's own sample distribution report. Of the 426 that loaded, 424 told search engines not to follow the link to the client, and 43, including AP News, not to index the page.
For comparison: 151 of 279 sites that quoted a price to MentionAgent asked $149 or less for a placement on their own site.
EIN Presswire pricing
As listed on einpresswire.com/pricing on 6 October 2026. It is pay-as-you-go: no subscription, and credits can be used any time within 365 days of purchase.
| Package | Price | Releases | Per release | What changes |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Basic | $149 | 1 | $149 | 1 country target, 1 industry target, 700 words, 1 image |
| Pro+ | $499 | 5, plus 1 free (limited-time offer) | $99.80, or $83.17 with the free one | 2 country targets, 5 industry targets, 1,000 words, 3 images |
| Corporate | $999 | 15 | $66.60 | 2 country targets, 5 industry targets, 2,500 words, 5 images |
The distribution channels are the same in all three: AP News, the USA TODAY Network, Nexstar's TV station sites, the 3,900+ Affinity Group Publications (sold only through EIN), Google News, Bloomberg Terminals, Muck Rack and the rest. You pay more for more releases, more country and industry targets and longer copy, not for extra channels. Every release also gets three keyword anchor-text links, one embedded video and a distribution report.
Its FAQ quotes a range of $50 to $149 a release and says larger bulk and white-label packages are priced on request. Expiring credits can be rolled into a new purchase of the same level or higher; in a July 2026 Trustpilot reply, EIN said that rollover has to happen within three months of expiry.
Compared with the other self-serve wires, that is cheap. PRWeb starts at $120 but its $245 tier is the one that adds syndication, and eReleases starts at $399 (both checked 6 October 2026). For the enterprise wires, see PR Newswire pricing and our Business Wire review.
What a release includes
- You write it. EIN does not offer a writing service. It has a free AI press release generator, and the editorial guidelines expect a news angle, a neutral tone and no "you", "I" or "we" outside quotes.
- Account check, then editorial review. New customers go through a one-time verification that can take up to two business days. After that, EIN says a review usually takes about two hours, during business hours.
- Distribution and a report. Once approved, the release goes out and a distribution report lists where copies appeared. Same-day distribution is available for verified accounts during business hours.
Three limits worth knowing before you buy:
- AP News only takes English releases. EIN distributes other languages, but not to AP.
- The US TV station sites are locked to US visitors. EIN's FAQ says you may not see your release on them from outside the US without a VPN. We hit the same wall: most of them refused to load from the Netherlands.
- It is not a disclosure wire. Its FAQ says Bloomberg Terminal delivery does not meet SEC disclosure rules, and that getting onto Yahoo Finance takes PR Newswire, GlobeNewswire or Business Wire.
The 855 copies we checked: nofollow and noindex
EIN publishes a sample distribution report on its site, for a PixAI release sent on 28 September 2026. It lists 870 links. We left out search, social and image links and opened the 855 republished copies on 6 October 2026, recording whether each page loaded with the release on it, whether it carried a noindex tag, and the rel value on the link back to PixAI.
| Network in the report | Copies listed | Loaded with the release | Noindex | Link back to the client |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| SignalNews city sites | 186 | 185 | 16 | nofollow on all 185 |
| Affinity Group Publications (lifestyle.* subdomains) | 175 | 174 | 0 | nofollow on all 174 |
| NewsNet Media city sites | 36 | 36 | 0 | nofollow on all 36 |
| Nexstar TV station sites | 111 | 25 (86 blocked us) | 25 of 25 | nofollow on all 25 |
| USA TODAY Network | 226 | 0 (redirected to an EU page) | could not check | could not check |
| EIN's own newswires (einnews.com) | 30 | 0 (403) | could not check | could not check |
| A network behind a bot check | 85 | 0 | could not check | could not check |
| AP News | 1 | 1 (in a browser) | 1 | no rel on the link, but the whole page is tagged nofollow |
| NatLawReview, EIN Presswire, MENAFN and 2 others | 5 | 5 | 1 | nofollow on 3; plain link on NatLawReview; no link on MENAFN |
Three things follow from it:
- The links are nofollow, as EIN says. Its FAQ states it "only allows for no-follow links in press releases" to keep its Google News status. Of the 426 copies that loaded, 423 marked the link nofollow and AP News tagged its whole page nofollow. NatLawReview was the one exception, with a plain
rel="external"link. - Most copies are not noindexed, but AP News and the TV station copies are. 43 of the 426 told search engines not to index the page, including the AP News copy and all 25 TV station copies we could load. The other 383 carried no noindex tag. That says they can be indexed, not that Google has indexed them; we could not measure that reliably.
- Half the list could not be checked from outside the US. 429 of the 855 copies blocked or redirected us, including all 226 USA TODAY Network copies. When we searched Google News on 6 October, it listed two of those USA TODAY copies, so they do reach Google's news index.
So the SEO case for EIN is a nofollow mention on many sites, not link equity. EIN's own FAQ still calls releases "a great source of quality backlinks". Google's spam policies list "links with optimized anchor text in articles, guest posts, or press releases distributed on other sites" as link spam when they pass ranking credit. EIN's three keyword anchor-text fields are that format, so the nofollow is what keeps them inside the rules, and it is also why they carry little ranking weight. You can test any release yourself with our nofollow link checker.
Method: one release, one day, fetched from the Netherlands with a standard browser user agent; the AP News copy refused the script and was opened in Chrome. A different release, date or location can give different numbers.
Will journalists pick it up?
Not because of the wire alone. EIN's FAQ says it guarantees publication on the networks it controls and delivery through gateways like Google News and AP News, and its terms say it "cannot and do[es] not guarantee search engine ranking results, specific placement or media usage" of a release.
The copies in the table above are syndication: partner sites republishing the release. Coverage, a journalist writing their own story, still depends on the news and on pitching the right person. EIN's report lists a "media target list" of outlets it sends to and adds that it is up to each publisher whether to use the release. If coverage is the goal, budget time for pitching journalists directly; our guide to getting featured in the news covers that route.
EIN Presswire reviews: Trustpilot, G2 and Reddit
Trustpilot (read on trustpilot.com on 6 October 2026): 3.6 from 177 reviews, and almost nothing in the middle: 91 five-star, 4 four-star, 1 three-star, 3 two-star and 78 one-star. Trustpilot notes EIN has not invited customers to review recently (every review we opened was marked unprompted) and that it has replied to 90% of negative reviews. The 2026 one-star reviews fall into four themes:
- No reach (August 2026): a buyer says the only responses came from vendors selling promotion. EIN replied that it could not find an account under that name and that distribution "does not guarantee a specific number of views, media pickups, or engagement".
- Rejections without a reason (July 2026, twice): one buyer says a release that followed the guidelines was refused with no reason given; another says releases were repeatedly flagged as non-compliant. In its reply to the second, EIN said releases must meet its editorial guidelines and can be revised or refunded within 90 days of purchase.
- Expired credits (July 2026): a buyer says unused credits expired and were not honoured. EIN replied that credits last a year, that it sends expiry reminders, and that they can be rolled over within three months.
- No SEO value (March 2026): a buyer says most partner sites are noindexed or never indexed, and that a refund was refused. EIN replied that partners set their own indexing rules and pointed to the USA TODAY Network and NatLawReview as indexed outlets.
These are individual accounts we have not verified. The five-star reviews are just as recent: in August and September 2026, one buyer praised a support agent by name, and others the editorial review and the distribution report.
G2 (read on g2.com on 6 October 2026): 4.5 from 187 reviews, with 131 five-star, 50 four-star, 5 three-star, none two-star and 1 one-star. We cannot tell from the outside why the two sites differ so much; read the low reviews on both before you buy.
Reddit. Google lists r/PublicRelations threads for the brand, including "Looking for a highly reputable company for our startup's..." and "Fiverr PR Distribution Agents vs EIN Presswire". Reddit blocked our attempts to load them, so we do not summarise them; read them directly.
Refunds, credits and rejected releases
- Refunds (FAQ): available if the package was bought within the last 60 days and less than 25% of its credits were used, prorated on what is left.
- Rejected releases: in a July 2026 Trustpilot reply, EIN said a release it cannot distribute can be revised and resubmitted, or refunded within 90 days of purchase. That is a different window from the FAQ, so confirm which rule covers your order.
- Legal-case releases: if EIN cannot distribute one, its FAQ says it issues a refund.
- Removals: its terms say that when a channel partner or anyone else complains about a release, EIN's policy is to withdraw or remove it.
- Credits: valid 365 days from purchase, then they expire unless rolled into a new package.
Its terms also allow EIN to suspend an account, remove releases and "refund or retain, in our sole discretion" what was paid if account details turn out to be inaccurate. The safest order is a single Basic release first, and a bundle only once a release has been approved.
What EIN Presswire will not publish
Its editorial guidelines explain most rejections. Releases have to carry news, not sell, and some topics are refused outright:
- online gambling, payday and short-term loans, forex trading platforms, cloud mining, stock picks and trading bots
- academic writing services, make-money-online schemes and sexually explicit content
- black-hat SEO, which it defines to include link buying and selling, link stuffing and reputation management
- legal cases, unless the release comes from a law firm representing one of the parties
Crypto and other financial releases are allowed but need full contact details and a postal address on the company's website or social pages. Links are capped at one per 100 words, and its FAQ says tables, lists, bold and italics are not supported.
A release vs a blogger's price for a placement
MentionAgent pitches bloggers for an editorial mention, so when a site replies with a price, it is the owner's own opening ask for a placement on their site. Between 4 June and 6 October 2026, 279 sites named a one-off dollar price in reply. Set against EIN's price per release:
| EIN Presswire price per release | Quotes at or under it |
|---|---|
| $149 (Basic) | 151 of 279 |
| $99.80 (Pro+) | 104 of 279 |
| $66.60 (Corporate) | 77 of 279 |
The median quote was $120, and the middle half ran from $60 to $250. So about half these sites asked $149 or less, the price of one Basic release, for a placement on their own pages. 175 of the 279 quotes were for a post or an article placement; only 34 said in writing that the link would be dofollow.
The two buy different things. A release gets a dated, public announcement onto hundreds of news sites within hours of approval, with nofollow links, and is the right tool when the news itself matters: a funding round, a launch, an award. A placement on a niche blog is one page, read by that blog's audience, and that blog may be one AI assistants cite when people ask about your topic. A paid placement that is not marked sponsored also carries the risk Google's spam policies describe, which is why MentionAgent's default ask is an unpaid mention exchange rather than a fee. Prices across link types are on how much backlinks cost.
Method: MentionAgent's production records, link-building workspaces only. Each domain counts once, at the lowest one-off dollar price it named for any placement, read by hand; monthly, yearly and non-dollar prices, add-on and bulk rates are left out.
Who EIN Presswire suits
- Good fit: small companies with real news who want it on AP News and local news sites cheaply, need a public dated record of an announcement, and will send several releases a year (the 15-pack cuts the price per release by more than half).
- Poor fit: anyone buying it for dofollow backlinks, anyone expecting journalists to write stories from it, public companies with disclosure duties, and businesses in the topics it refuses.

1. MentionAgent: mentions on niche blogs instead of a release
Best for: founders and marketers who were buying releases mainly for links and visibility, not to announce news.
MentionAgent finds blog posts already covering your topic, checks each domain, finds and verifies the editor's email, writes a pitch about that specific post and sends it from a warmed inbox on a sending domain set up for you. You can approve drafts and replies in the dashboard, in Telegram, or from Claude Code, Cursor or any MCP agent, or switch on auto-send for outreach. It also tracks whether AI assistants mention your brand.
- Price: Starter is $99/mo with one sending inbox and 5,000 credits; sign up and you get 50 free credits to see real drafts for your site before paying.
- The catch: every mention depends on a blogger saying yes, so there is no guaranteed count and no same-day announcement. For real news, a wire is still faster.
Pick it if you want links that are part of an article on a site in your niche. See how the outreach agent works.
2. PRWeb: a cheaper single release
- Price: $120 Basic, $245 Standard (adds syndication to "1,200+ websites powered by PRNewswire"), $360 Advanced and $480 Premium, per release.
- Watch out: the $120 tier is search visibility only; the syndication most buyers want starts at $245.
Pick it if you send one release a year and want syndication through PR Newswire's network. Full details in our PRWeb review.
3. eReleases: Cision PR Newswire distribution, resold
- Price: Buzz Builder $399, Newsmaker $499, PR Pro $699 per release, with national distribution through Cision PR Newswire and a two-step editorial review.
- Watch out: add-ons add up: extra words, extra target lists and embedded images are $150 each, a YouTube video $200 and writing $300.
Pick it if you want PR Newswire's distribution without PR Newswire's own price list. For PR Newswire itself, see PR Newswire pricing.
4. Newswire.com: AP News per release
- Price: Starter $399 (Digital Journal and online news sites), Basic $659 (adds AP News), higher tiers above that.
Pick it if you want AP News through a different per-release service and accept paying over four times EIN's Basic price. Compared with other wires on PR Newswire alternatives.
5. ACCESS Newswire: a subscription with a media database
- Price: $920 a month (Budget), $1,150 (National) or $1,525 (Premium), each with one release a month, a media database and monitoring; up to three releases a month for an extra fee.
Pick it if you send news every month and also want journalist search in the same tool. For the enterprise wires, see our PR Newswire review and Business Wire vs GlobeNewswire; for free journalist requests, HARO alternatives.
Mentions on blogs in your niche
MentionAgent finds blogs covering your topic, emails the person who runs each one and brings you their reply to approve. From $99/mo, 50 free credits to start.
