SEO Outsourcing Companies: The 3 Models and What They Cost
"Outsourcing SEO" covers three different purchases. Decide which one you are making before you shortlist anyone, because the vendor lists for each barely overlap.
Offshore staffing: you buy hours and keep the direction. Cheapest per hour, most management.
Agency retainer: you buy judgement. Kore BPO's roundup puts a healthy range at $1,200 to $3,500/mo; managed tiers run to $10,000.
Productized or software: you buy execution at a fixed price. From around $85 a placement, or a flat monthly fee.
None of them remove approvals and context. That work stays with you in every model.
Search for SEO outsourcing companies and you get three genuinely different businesses on one results page: offshore staffing firms selling hours, agencies selling retainers, and productized suppliers selling units. They are lumped together because they all answer "someone else does my SEO", and they are priced, managed and risked in completely different ways.
This guide separates them, puts real published numbers against each where they exist, and is honest about the work that stays on your desk regardless.
Model 1: offshore staffing
What you buy: hours, usually as a dedicated person or small team, at a lower hourly cost than hiring locally.
This is the model behind a large share of the results on this search. Outsource Accelerator, one of the bigger directories in the space, frames the pitch as saving "up to 70% on staff costs" as a general claim across outsourced roles, with the Philippines as the main market. Kore BPO sits in the same category, offering SEO delivery alongside broader business process outsourcing.
The honest trade: you are buying capacity, not direction. An outsourced specialist can run the audits, build the pages and do the outreach, but someone on your side still decides what to target and whether the output is any good. If you already know the plan and lack the hands, the arbitrage is real. If you do not have the plan, cheaper hours produce more of the wrong work rather than less.
Watch for: time zones on anything needing approvals, and link quality specifically. Volume-priced offshore link building is where the worst placements come from, and your domain carries them, not the supplier's.
Model 2: the agency retainer
What you buy: judgement, plus execution. The agency picks the targets, sets the strategy and reports on it.
Published numbers in this tier are scarce, and the ones that exist sit far apart. Kore BPO's own roundup of outsourcing companies, which lists WebFX, Ignite Visibility, Straight North and Thrive Internet Marketing alongside itself, puts a healthy monthly range at "twelve hundred to thirty five hundred per month", while noting that several of those providers only quote on a call. At the managed end, The HOTH publishes tiers at $1,000, $2,500, $5,000 and $10,000 a month.
Most providers in this bracket publish nothing. Semify quotes "Custom Price Based on Volume" across every service line. Tampa-based SEO Outsourcing offers managed and white-label fulfilment with pricing by consultation only.
The honest trade: this is the right model when you cannot tell a good target from a bad one and need someone accountable for that call. It is the wrong model when you already know what you want and are paying a retainer for work a productized supplier would sell you cheaper. For the link building slice specifically, our best link building agencies comparison breaks down where retainers stop making sense.
Model 3: productized suppliers and software
What you buy: a defined unit at a published price, or a flat monthly fee for execution capacity.
This is the only tier where you can compare costs without a sales call. FATJOE sells individual placements from around $85, priced by site authority, with no minimum or contract. Agency Elevation publishes white label SEO at $399, $599 and $799 per domain per month with a $1,000 monthly account minimum. DashClicks charges $199 a month for its platform and prices fulfilment per service inside the dashboard.
The honest trade: you own the targeting. Nobody is deciding what to buy on your behalf, so the saving is only a saving if someone can make those calls. Our page on white label SEO agencies compares this tier properly for agencies reselling it.
What each model actually costs
| Model | Published cost | Who decides targets | Your time |
|---|---|---|---|
| Offshore staffing | Per seat, quoted | You | High |
| Agency retainer | ~$1,200 to $3,500/mo reported, to $10,000 published | The agency | Low to moderate |
| Productized supply | From ~$85 per unit, or $399+/mo per domain | You | Moderate |
| Outreach software | Flat monthly, from $99 | You, with the agent doing the work | Low, approvals only |
The $1,200 to $3,500 figure is quoted from Kore BPO's own roundup, not measured by us. Per-unit and per-domain figures come from each provider's published pricing at the time of writing. Confirm before budgeting.
The work outsourcing never removes
Every vendor prices execution. None of them price the management, and that is the line item people find out about after signing.
Context. Someone has to explain what the product does, who buys it and why, in enough detail that outreach does not read as generic. That is your knowledge and it cannot be bought in.
Approvals. Anything going out under your name needs someone to look at it. On a fully managed retainer that might be an hour a month. On offshore staffing it is considerably more.
Noticing when reporting drifts from reality. Rankings improving while signups do not is the most common failure in this category, and no vendor is incentivised to raise it. That check stays yours.
Budget those hours honestly. A retainer that looks cheaper than hiring often is not, once you count the time your side spends keeping it pointed in the right direction.
Why cheap volume outreach fails, with numbers
The most common thing outsourced cheaply is outreach, because it looks like a volume task. It is not, and the reason shows up in the contact data long before it shows up in the results.
We verify every address our agent finds on a live blog before sending. Across 17,507 verified addresses, measured to 25 August 2026, 17.1% were already invalid and would have bounced. Only 43.6% verified clean. Another 34.8% were catch-all domains, which accept anything and therefore confirm nothing, and 27.1% were role inboxes rather than a named person.
That is the raw material any outsourced team is working from. A provider paid per email sent has no reason to spend money verifying it first, and the arithmetic is unforgiving: send unverified at volume and roughly one in six lands on a dead address. Mailbox providers read that as a list-quality signal and the deliverability of everything else you send degrades with it.
Our own bounce rate across 11,477 send attempts is 2.8%. The difference is not better writing or better targeting, it is verification before send. So when comparing quotes, ask what the per-email price includes. A cheaper rate that excludes verification is not cheaper, it is the same job with the expensive part removed and handed to your domain reputation. The full method is in cold email bounce rate.
How to vet any SEO outsourcing company
1. Ask for referring pages, not authority scores. Domain Rating describes a domain's overall link graph. It says nothing about whether one page sends you a reader who converts. Ask for the specific pages they placed links on for a client in a similar category and what traffic those pages get. See relevant backlinks for the argument in full.
2. Ask who writes the outreach. If the answer is a template with variables swapped, the reply rate will show it. Editors can tell.
3. Ask what happens in month one. A provider who cannot describe the first thirty days concretely is selling a retainer, not a plan.
4. Ask what they will not do. Vendors who claim every scope at every budget are describing a sales process, not a service.
When to outsource execution instead of the whole channel
Most teams looking to outsource SEO do not have a strategy problem. They have a capacity problem in one specific place, and outreach is usually that place, because it is the part that never finishes.
MentionAgent is $99/mo flat. The agent finds blog posts in your niche, looks up the author's verified email, writes a pitch tied to that specific post, and sends it once you approve it in Telegram. Follow-ups run until someone replies. No credits, no per-contact fees, no per-link pricing, so scaling the volume does not scale the bill.
It does one part of SEO. It will not fix your site speed, restructure your information architecture or write your pillar pages. If those are the gap, hire an agency. If the gap is that nobody has time to pitch fifty blogs a month, that is the piece this replaces. Our guide to outsourcing link building compares the options for that slice specifically, including freelancers and agencies.
Outsource the outreach, keep the judgement
$99/mo flat. The agent finds the posts, finds the author, writes the pitch and follows up. You approve every send in Telegram.

- Know exactly what to buy and want no sales call? → productized supply.
- Reselling under your own brand? → white label providers.
- Budget under $1,000/mo? → narrow the scope rather than spreading it thin.
- Only outreach capacity is missing? → MentionAgent at a flat $99/mo.
Frequently asked questions
What does it cost to outsource SEO?
It depends which model you pick, and they are not close together. Kore BPO's roundup puts a healthy monthly range at $1,200 to $3,500. Productized providers publish lower entry points: Agency Elevation from $399 per domain per month, FATJOE from around $85 a placement. The HOTH publishes managed tiers from $1,000 to $10,000 a month. Offshore staffing is priced per seat rather than per campaign.
Should I outsource to an offshore team or an agency?
Offshore staffing is labour arbitrage: you get hours at a lower rate and still decide what happens with them. An agency sells judgement. If you know what needs doing and lack the hands, offshore is cheaper. If you do not know what needs doing, cheap hours make it worse, because direction is the missing piece.
What work does outsourcing SEO not remove?
Approvals, context and judgement stay with you in every model. Someone still has to explain the product, approve what goes out under your name, and notice when reporting stops matching reality. Vendors price execution, not management.
Is outsourced SEO worth it for a small business?
At the bottom of the market you are usually buying volume rather than judgement, and the cheapest packages tend to be templated work that will not move a competitive term. Under roughly $1,000 a month, a narrow scope done properly beats a full-service package spread thin.
How do I check an SEO outsourcing company is any good?
Ask for the specific pages they placed links on for a client in a similar category, and what traffic those pages get. A provider willing to show real referring pages and real outcomes is selling work you can inspect. One that reports only authority tiers is asking you to trust a proxy.
