What an AI link building agent actually does
The phrase gets used for two very different things, which is why shopping this category is confusing. A tool that writes your first line with a language model is doing one task inside a campaign. An agent is a program that holds the whole job: it decides who to contact, finds the address, writes the pitch, sends it from a warmed inbox, reads the reply and decides what happens next. The first sells you time on one step. The second sells you the step count.

A timeout is usually a slow crawl on a prospect site rather than a broken pipeline, and the run resumes on the next cycle, but from the operator's chair it still looks like a morning where nothing moved.
1,478 runs surfaced at least one prospect, averaging 12.4 against a ceiling of 100 per run. The gap between 12.4 and 100 is the honest shape of prospecting: most niches do not contain a hundred relevant sites that are alive, on topic and reachable, and a tool that always returns a full page of results is padding.
