10 Best Gaming PR Agencies (2026)

August 2026 · Agencies

Quick answer

Gaming PR agencies have quietly become creator-marketing agencies. Sorting them by how much of the work is still press is more useful than ranking them.

Press first, creators second: Renaissance PR, Stride PR, Honest PR, Plan of Attack. Games specialists that still lead with media relations.

Creators first: Cloutboost, Vicariously. Influencer campaigns are the product and press is one channel inside it.

Generalists with a gaming page: BerlinRosen, 5WPR, Salient PR, High Vibe PR. Reach beyond games press when a story crosses over.

The clearest evidence of the shift: Vicarious PR rebranded to Vicariously and dropped "PR" from its own name. Its old domain still redirects.

Games marketing changed faster than the job title did. Wishlists and sales now move on creator coverage more than on review scores, and the agencies restructured around that years before their category name caught up.

This list sorts 10 gaming PR agencies by where they sit on the press-to-creators spectrum, and records what pricing each publishes.

Disclosure: MentionAgent is our own product. It is outreach software, not a PR agency, so it is not ranked among the 10 below. It appears at the end as the option for coverage and links without a retainer.

Our data

We checked the US top 10 for gaming pr agency on 26 August 2026 and opened every result. Every single agency we could read offers creator or influencer work alongside press. Not one sells media relations on its own.

One of them dropped PR from its name. vicariouspr.com now returns a 301 redirect to vicariously.agency, where the offer is described as PR, creators and advertising. That takes five seconds to verify and says more than any ranking.

This is the softest SERP of any vertical we have measured. The top result is a domain at Open PageRank 1.28, and two more agencies rank below 1.75. Authority is doing almost nothing here.

The category renamed itself and the job description followed

Read the service lists rather than the headlines and the pattern is consistent. Stride PR describes PR strategy, media relations and content creators together. Honest PR lists public relations, content, creators and influencers, digital gaming events and consultancy. Renaissance PR pairs earned campaign planning with influencer strategy. Cloutboost is an influencer marketing agency that also offers PR.

Vicariously makes it explicit. The agency formerly trading as Vicarious PR now describes itself as PR, creators and advertising built around one strategy, and the old domain redirects to the new one. Dropping the two letters that named your category is a deliberate decision, and it reflects where the budgets went.

None of this means press is worthless. Coverage still drives credibility, awards consideration and the reading list that creators themselves work from. But if you buy a gaming PR retainer expecting only media relations, you will get something different, and if you buy one expecting creators to be included at no extra cost, you will get a surprise on the invoice.

Ask for the split in writing. What share of the fee covers press outreach, what share covers creator sourcing and management, and whether creator fees and keys are inside or outside the number. That question sorts this list faster than any case study.

How to judge a gaming PR agency

1. Ask which titles they worked on in your genre, and at your budget. Agency rosters run from indie to AAA and the work is not transferable. A team that launched a funded AAA title has a different set of levers than one that gets small games noticed, and both call it games PR.

2. Get the creator economics on the table early. Talent fees, key distribution, sponsored versus organic coverage and disclosure requirements are all real costs and real risks. An agency that treats them as details to sort later is one you will argue with in launch week.

3. Hire early enough to shape the beats. The announce, the demo timing and the festival submissions are where a campaign is won. Bringing in an agency after those decisions are made buys you distribution of a plan you already fixed.

4. Check the region. European and Asian games press run on different cycles and languages from the US. Several agencies here are anchored in one region, so confirm they have people in your target markets rather than partners they will hand you to.

1. Renaissance PR: award-winning, and explicit about ethics

Balance: Earned PR campaign planning with influencer strategy alongside.

Pricing: Not published.

Renaissance PR works from Warwick in England and has operated since 2015, covering campaign planning, influencer strategy, product management and go-to-market communication. Its client work includes STALKER 2, Dave the Diver and Path of Exile, spanning indie through AAA. It has been a finalist at the MCV Develop Awards several times and won Best PR Campaign of the year in 2022, and it leads its own positioning on ethical communications for the games industry.

Best for: Developers who want a campaign planned around announce beats rather than a launch-week push, with a track record across both indie and large titles.

Trade-offs: A UK base means European press strength and less native reach into US outlets. Ask how the US side is covered.

2. Stride PR: boutique, video games only

Balance: Media relations and PR strategy first, with influencer outreach and social attached.

Pricing: Not published.

Stride PR is a boutique agency working exclusively on video game public relations for developers and publishers across platforms, covering media relations, PR strategy and counsel, influencer outreach, press material development and social media management. Robert Brown and his team are named on the site. It is one of the smallest domains ranking for this term, which tells you the SERP is rewarding relevance rather than scale.

Best for: Developers who want senior attention from a small games-only team, and who value press materials being done properly.

Trade-offs: A boutique has limited bench for a large simultaneous launch. Confirm capacity against your launch window before signing.

3. Honest PR: press, creators and events under one roof

Balance: Public relations alongside creators and influencers, content, digital gaming events and consultancy.

Pricing: Not published.

Honest PR is a UK-registered video game PR and marketing agency describing global reach, working across mobile apps, indie games, multi-platform AAA titles, esports, peripherals and hardware. The digital gaming events line is the one worth noting: showcase and festival presence is a channel of its own in games, and few agencies list it as a service.

Best for: Developers whose plan includes showcases and digital events as well as press, or hardware and peripheral brands that need games-literate communications.

Trade-offs: A wide remit across mobile, AAA, esports and hardware means asking which of those the account team actually works in day to day.

4. Vicariously: the agency that dropped "PR" from its name

Balance: PR, creators and advertising presented as one strategy rather than separate services.

Pricing: Not published.

Formerly Vicarious PR, the agency now trades as Vicariously, and vicariouspr.com returns a 301 redirect to vicariously.agency. The offer covers media relations, influencer marketing, advertising, events, content marketing, strategy, video production and market research, framed around helping developers identify what makes their game matter.

Best for: Developers who want press, creators and paid handled as one plan with one set of reporting rather than three vendors with three narratives.

Trade-offs: When advertising sits in the same scope as earned coverage, the reporting can flatter itself. Ask to see earned and paid results separated.

5. Cloutboost: creators as the product, PR as a service

Balance: Influencer marketing first, with PR and retargeting alongside.

Pricing: Not published.

Cloutboost is headquartered in Richardson, Texas with employees in San Francisco, Berlin and Kyiv, describing itself as a full-cycle influencer marketing agency covering campaign strategy, influencer selection, optimisation and scaling, plus analytics and reporting. It also offers public relations, which places it at the opposite end of this list from the press-led specialists.

Best for: Publishers whose plan is creator-driven and who want measurement and scaling handled properly rather than a handful of ad hoc keys.

Trade-offs: If you need traditional press relationships and embargo management, that is not the centre of this business. Ask who runs the press side and what they have placed recently.

6. Plan of Attack: international, and unverifiable from outside

Balance: Describes itself as an international video games PR agency.

Pricing: Could not check.

Plan of Attack ranks second in the US for this search. Its site returned no readable content on our automated checks, so we are recording that rather than repeating claims from other lists. The international positioning is the reason it appears on shortlists for multi-market launches, and it is worth a direct conversation if that is your situation.

Best for: Multi-market launches where European and other non-US press need coordinating.

Trade-offs: We could not verify the offer ourselves. Treat everything here as a starting point for your own check rather than a recommendation.

7. High Vibe PR: three continents, three categories

Balance: Boutique earned media across gaming, Web3 and AI.

Pricing: Not published.

High Vibe PR operates from New York, Berlin and Manila on brand storytelling and media placement, working in gaming, Web3 and AI only. It is also the top-ranking result for this search at an Open PageRank of 1.28, which makes it the clearest example anywhere in our research of a small domain winning a commercial SERP on relevance alone.

Best for: Games with a Web3 or AI dimension, where the story needs to work with two different press communities at once.

Trade-offs: Three offices across three continents is a thin spread for a small team. Ask who is on your account and in which time zone.

8. BerlinRosen: gaming inside a much larger practice

Balance: Gaming as one of roughly 17 practice areas.

Pricing: Not published.

BerlinRosen works from New York, Los Angeles and Washington DC as part of Orchestra, which states more than 700 experts. Gaming sits alongside public affairs, issue advocacy, campaigns and elections, crisis, energy and sustainability, real estate and labor. That mix is unusual, and it is the reason to consider them rather than a games shop.

Best for: Games companies with a policy, regulatory or reputational dimension, from loot box regulation to workplace stories.

Trade-offs: If your need is a launch campaign, a games specialist will know your outlets and creators far better, and will cost less.

9. 5WPR: mainstream reach, and a stated budget floor

Balance: Gaming and video game PR alongside digital marketing, within a large generalist agency.

Pricing: No rate card, but its contact form budget bands begin at $15,000 to $25,000.

5WPR is a large New York agency covering consumer, technology, corporate and public affairs, with gaming as one practice. The value here is reach beyond games press: when a title crosses into mainstream culture, a generalist agency with consumer relationships can take it further than a games specialist can.

Best for: Titles with genuine mainstream crossover potential, or games companies with a corporate story to tell.

Trade-offs: The published band is well above what most indie campaigns budget, and it is worth knowing that before you fill in the form. Games specialists will also know your trade press better.

10. Salient PR: gaming as one technical sector of ten

Balance: B2B technology earned media, with gaming among its named sectors.

Pricing: Not published.

Salient PR runs from Austin, Texas under founder Justin Mauldin, covering SaaS, AI, crypto, cybersecurity, developer tools, gaming, IoT, sustainability, venture capital and agriculture. It reports an average client relationship of 2.8 years and a client base backed by Sequoia Capital, Kleiner Perkins, Y Combinator and a16z. This is the option for the business side of games rather than the title side.

Best for: Games infrastructure, tooling and platform companies whose customers are other developers rather than players.

Trade-offs: This is not a consumer games PR agency. If you are launching a title to players, the specialists above are the right list.

Also worth knowing: several results for this search are not agency service pages, including a Reddit thread and ranked lists published by agencies about their own competitors. That is worth remembering when a list places its author near the top.

What the pricing silence tells you

Only one published figure appears in this group, and it belongs to the largest generalist rather than to any games specialist.

Games PR is usually bought per title, not per month. That is the practical reason the specialists publish nothing: a campaign price depends on the launch window, the number of beats and how much creator activity sits inside the scope. Ask for a campaign quote tied to your dates rather than a monthly rate.

The creator line item is where budgets surprise people. Talent fees and key distribution can exceed the agency fee. Establish whether those are inside the number or billed through, and get it in the same document.

5WPR's $15,000 band is a generalist floor, not a games benchmark. Do not read it as what indie PR costs. Our digital PR costs guide has the wider picture on how campaign and retainer pricing differ.

If you would rather not hire an agency

Everything above is a campaign or retainer for a team pitching press and creators on your behalf. For a funded launch with a real window, that is the right purchase, and coordinating a hundred creators is not something you want to do yourself in launch week. It is an expensive purchase when what you want is steady coverage and links from the gaming blogs and newsletters your players already read.

MentionAgent is $99/mo flat. The agent finds relevant posts in your niche, looks up the author's verified email, writes a pitch tied to the specific article, and sends it once you approve it in Telegram. Follow-ups run until someone replies. No credits, no per-contact fees, no minimum term, so the bill does not move when the volume does.

The trade is worth stating plainly. You give up press relationships, creator sourcing, embargo management and any route into tier-one games media. You keep a flat bill, you read every pitch before it sends, and you own the relationships that come back. We wrote the honest comparison in AI link building vs hiring an agency, including where the agency is clearly the better answer.

Frequently asked questions

What is the best gaming PR agency in 2026?

It depends how much of your plan is press and how much is creators. Renaissance PR, Stride PR and Honest PR are games specialists leading with media relations. Cloutboost and Vicariously lead with creators. BerlinRosen and 5WPR are generalists useful when a game story crosses into mainstream press. Decide the channel mix first.

How much does a gaming PR agency cost?

No games specialist publishes a figure. The only published number belongs to 5WPR, a generalist whose form bands start at $15,000 to $25,000, which is not an indie benchmark. Games PR is usually bought as a per-title campaign around a launch, so ask for a campaign price tied to your dates. See digital PR costs.

Is games press or influencer marketing more important now?

For most titles creators drive more wishlists and sales, and the agencies restructured around that. Every agency we could read on this list sells creator work alongside press, and one dropped PR from its own name in a rebrand. Press still matters for credibility, awards and the coverage creators themselves read.

When should an indie developer hire a PR agency?

Early enough to shape the announce beats, usually several months before launch. Hiring after the store page is live and the trailer is cut leaves the agency distributing a plan you already fixed. If budget covers one thing, most specialists will say a strong announce and a well-timed demo beat a launch-week push.

Do gaming PR agencies work with a specific region?

Several are regionally anchored. Renaissance PR and Honest PR are UK based, Cloutboost runs from Texas with staff in San Francisco, Berlin and Kyiv, and High Vibe PR spans New York, Berlin and Manila. European and Asian games press run on different cycles and languages, so confirm the agency has people in your target markets rather than partners.
