How to Get Featured in (or Published in) Entrepreneur Magazine
There are two ways into Entrepreneur. You can be featured, which means pitching its editors and writers a story, for free. Or you can be published, which means writing your own articles through the Entrepreneur Leadership Network, which costs $3,000 a year once you are accepted. Here are the steps for both, from Entrepreneur's own help centre and guidelines as of 23 September 2026.
To be featured, pitch the Entrepreneur writer who covers your topic, or [email protected], with a practical story founders can use. To publish your own articles, apply to the Entrepreneur Leadership Network: free to apply, $3,000 a year if accepted.
Franchise owners: the Franchise 500 is free to enter.
Press releases: Entrepreneur Wire publishes them, for a fee.
Selling coverage: Entrepreneur ends the membership of any contributor caught doing it.
We checked every route into Entrepreneur on its own pages on 23 September 2026. One is free editorial, one is a paid contributor network, one is a paid press-release wire, and one is a free list.
Free: editorial pitches; the Franchise 500.
Paid: Entrepreneur Leadership Network ($3,000 a year since 1 November 2022); Entrepreneur Wire (price not published).
Getting featured: step by step
- Shape a practical story. Entrepreneur's readers are starting and running businesses. The pitches that fit explain how a company solved a problem those readers share, with numbers, in a way they could copy.
- Find the writer who covers it (see below). If you cannot, Entrepreneur's help centre gives [email protected] for general editorial enquiries.
- Send a short pitch using the template below, with the founder available for an interview.
- Follow up once after four or five working days, then try the next writer.
Entrepreneur does not publish a separate news tips form or embargo policy that we could find.
Finding the right writer
- Search Google for
site:entrepreneur.com "your topic", for examplesite:entrepreneur.com "pricing a service business", and set Tools to the past year. - Separate staff and freelance writers from Leadership Network contributors: contributor articles are written by members about their own expertise, so those authors are not the people to pitch for coverage.
- Pick the writer whose recent pieces your story builds on, and find their contact details on their author page or social profiles.
Also consider the other editorial route: being the expert quoted in someone else's story. Reactive PR and HARO alternatives cover the quote-request services writers use to find sources.
A pitch template for Entrepreneur
Subject: What [type of business owner] can learn from how we [solved problem]
Hi [Name],
I liked your piece on [their recent article]. A related story from our side: [one sentence on the problem most of your readers have, and what you did differently].
The result: [numbers]. The steps are simple enough for any [type of business] to copy: [one-line summary].
I'm [name], founder of [Company] ([what it does]). Happy to share the details and numbers, or talk it through on a call.
Thanks,
[Name, role, phone]

Getting published: the Leadership Network
The Entrepreneur Leadership Network (ELN) is how outside contributors write for Entrepreneur. The steps:
- Read the writer guidelines first (the key rules are below). If you cannot write within them, do not apply.
- Apply. Entrepreneur's help centre says there is no fee or card needed to apply.
- If accepted, pay $3,000 for the annual membership, in full, as stated for new memberships since 1 November 2022.
- Submit articles. They go through editorial review before publishing.
Membership gives you the right to publish expertise under Entrepreneur's name. It does not mean Entrepreneur's reporters will cover your company, and Entrepreneur says it cannot guarantee third-party media pickup or coverage.
The contributor rules
- Length: 800 to 1,000 words.
- No AI-written text: the guidelines say submissions are run through an AI detector.
- No interviews or quotes from people who are not household names.
- Republishing: allowed on your own site ten days after publication, with a link back.
- Links: none to Forbes, Fast Company or Inc.
- Disclosure: financial or social relationships must be disclosed; overly promotional articles are not accepted.
Is $3,000 a year worth it?
It is worth it if you will write regularly, within the rules, and your customers value seeing your byline in Entrepreneur. It is poor value if what you actually want is other people mentioning and recommending your company: the articles are about your expertise, and promotional pieces are refused.
For comparison, MentionAgent's outreach records show what independent sites ask when they want to be paid for a mention. Of the bloggers who replied to a MentionAgent pitch with a price between March and September 2026, 226 quoted a figure we could parse: the median was $175 and the middle half ran from $90 to $325. Most sites never asked for money at all. A year of mentions on the sites your customers read, which is what MentionAgent automates, will often do more for a small company than a year of self-written columns.
The Franchise 500
If you run a franchise, the Franchise 500 is the most direct route into Entrepreneur, and Entrepreneur's help centre says participation is completely free.
| To be ranked, a franchise needs | To apply, send |
|---|---|
| At least 10 units, at least one in the US | The Franchise Disclosure Document (FDD) |
| To be currently seeking US franchisees | A list of units |
| Not to be in Chapter 11 | Audited financial statements |
Franchises that do not yet qualify can still get a free listing in Entrepreneur's franchise directory. The deadline for the 2027 ranking was 7 August 2026, so that cycle has closed; start with Entrepreneur's new listing request page.
Entrepreneur Wire
Entrepreneur Wire publishes press releases on Entrepreneur.com. Payment is taken at submission and releases go through editorial review; we did not find a published price. It is a public record of an announcement, not a story by a journalist. The press release submission guide compares wire options.
"Guaranteed" Entrepreneur offers
Firms selling a guaranteed Entrepreneur article held two of the top ten Google results for this question on 23 September 2026. Entrepreneur's own guidelines say that using an ELN membership to give, promise or offer editorial coverage to a third party for compensation of any kind, including social media promotion, is a serious violation that will result in termination of the membership. We have not bought from these firms and make no claim about what they deliver, but that rule tells you where Entrepreneur stands.
For other outlets, see Forbes (the other big paid-membership network), Inc., TechCrunch and Business Insider, or the overview, how to get featured in the news.
