Price does not follow DR
Web20Ranker lists a DR and a price for each of its 21 CBD sites. DRs run from 11 to 50 (median 36), prices from $85 to $565 (median $155).
- The most expensive site, at $565, lists DR 45. The highest, DR 50, costs $125.
- The cheapest, at $85, lists DR 38.
- One site lists DR 11 next to a DA of 58.
Before you pay a CBD link seller
- See the domain. CBD SEO Xperts says "You approve every site, anchor and target URL before we pitch". Web20Ranker masks each domain (for example "hem*****mp.com") and does "not provide a list of sites prior to placing your articles".
- Check its traffic and topic yourself. On the list above, the DR told you little about the price. Relevant backlinks covers what to check.
- Ask whether the link will be marked sponsored. That decides whether it's within Google's rules, below.
Google's rules on paid links and CBD ads
Google's spam policies list "Buying or selling links for ranking purposes" as link spam, including "Exchanging money for links, or posts that contain links". Paid links are fine "as long as they are qualified with a rel="nofollow" or rel="sponsored" attribute value". OpenBacklinks' own CBD page says purchased links "should use rel="sponsored" or rel="nofollow"".
Google's Ads policy allows ads for topical, hemp-derived CBD with 0.3% THC or less, and says advertisers must "only target California, Colorado, and Puerto Rico". So CBD products can't be advertised on Google in Canada or Australia. More in buying backlinks and link building scams.
