Niche Edits Pricing: What 14 Vendors and 75 Publishers Charge

Updated 1 October 2026 · Link Building · By Matt

A niche edit, also sold as a link insertion or a curated link, is a link added to an article that is already published. Vendors price them per link, almost always by the authority of the host site. We checked 22 vendors on 27 September 2026, 14 of which publish a per-link price, and set those prices against 75 that publishers quoted directly to MentionAgent users for the same thing. What a niche edit is and how to vet one is covered in our niche edits service guide; this page is only about what they cost.

Quick answer

A niche edit costs about $80 at DR 10+, $135 at DR 30+, $330 at DR 50+ and $425 at DR 60+, going by vendor prices checked 27 September 2026. Publishers asked MentionAgent users a median of $125 directly.

Cheapest DR-tiered vendor: Rhino Rank, from $60.

Typical top tier: $400 to $513 for DR 60+ sites.

Replacement cover: from 3 months to lifetime, depending on the vendor.

Our data

75 publishers quoted MentionAgent users a US dollar price for a link insertion between 19 August and 26 September 2026. The median was $125, and the middle half asked between $68 and $200.

Insertion vs guest post: 42 of 60 publishers who priced both asked less for the insertion.

Typical discount: the insertion cost 78% of the same site's guest post.

Niche edit price by DR tier

What the vendors below charge for a single niche edit at each authority level. Each vendor's price is counted in the band where its tier starts (a DR 45+ tier counts as DR 40 to 49).

Host site DRTypical priceRangeVendors priced
DR 10 to 19$81$70 to $893
DR 20 to 29$122$90 to $2006
DR 30 to 39$135$110 to $2195
DR 40 to 49$210$160 to $2506
DR 50 to 59$330$280 to $3786
DR 60+$425$297 to $5136

"Typical" is the median across vendors that sell that tier. The typical price rises about 70% from DR 20 to DR 40, then roughly doubles from DR 40 to DR 60. Five of the nine DR-tiered vendors also set a minimum monthly traffic for each tier, so these prices do not usually buy a DR 50 site with no readers.

Niche edit prices by vendor, September 2026

Prices below are for a single niche edit or link insertion, in US dollars, exactly as each vendor's own page showed them on 27 September 2026. "Entry" is the cheapest tier you can actually order; "top" is the most expensive published tier.

Across these 14 vendors the median entry price was $177 and seven of the 13 with a published top tier topped out between $400 and $513. Leave out GuestNiche, which prices by quantity rather than by site, and the cheapest vendor that tiers by authority is Rhino Rank at $60.

Four more vendors that rank for niche edit searches publish no per-link price. Page One Power, Rankora HQ and BacklinkBucks sell on quote only (Page One Power's custom campaigns start at $3,700 a month). Legiit is a marketplace whose listings load in the browser, so we could not read its prices. Editorial.Link sells editorial links from $300 to $375 each but has no separate niche edit product, so it is not in the table.

Two notes on accuracy: Vladenza's own pricing page shows different "from" prices ($80 / $120 / $220) from its service page, which we used. FATJOE's page title says "from $80" and its raw page code carries lower figures that the live page replaces; the table shows the prices a visitor sees, $81 to $513. Prices change often; confirm before you order.

Package and monthly plans

Two vendors sell niche edits only in bundles or monthly plans. Divided out, the per-link price sits inside the same range as the single-link vendors:

VendorSmallest planPer linkLargest planPer link
Link Publishers$600/mo, 5 links, DR 30+$120$3,500/mo, 25 links, DR 60+$140
LinkPanda$4,400, 10 links, DR 50+$440$15,120, 35 links, DR 70+$432

Several single-link vendors also discount volume: SirLinksalot sells 3-packs from $185 ($62 a link), Link Publishers takes 10% off quarterly plans, and Authority Builders takes 15% off for a subscription. None of these change the basic shape, which is that the price is per link and never falls to zero.

How vendors set the tiers

Nine of the 14 vendors tier by Domain Rating, often with a minimum traffic figure attached (FATJOE, Vettted, The Website Flip, Vladenza and Reporter Outreach all do this). The rest use something else:

  • Referring domains: Rhino Rank tiers by the host site's Majestic referring domain count, from 20 to 100 at $60 up to 1,000+ at $210.
  • Topical fit: Loganix charges $200 for a multi-topic site and $400 for a niche match, both at 30+ DR and 1,000+ traffic.
  • Volume: Outreach Desk charges $300 per link at 10 a month and $250 at 20 a month.
  • Quantity only: GuestNiche charges $30 for one insertion and $500 for 20, with no authority tiers at all.

The DR tier describes the whole domain, not the page your link goes on. Two insertions in the same tier can land on a guide that ranks and gets read, or on an old post nobody visits. That is why the single most useful question before paying is the exact URL of the target page; our niche edits guide lists the others.

What the guarantee covers

A niche edit can be removed by the site owner at any time, so the replacement guarantee is part of what you are paying for. Terms on the same day:

Compare cover per dollar, not headline price. A $100 link with six months of cover and a $120 link with twelve are not the same purchase if links on that kind of site tend to disappear. Our guide to link reclamation covers checking whether paid links are still live.

What publishers ask when you go direct

MentionAgent emails site owners and editors on behalf of its users to ask for an editorial mention. Some reply with a price instead, and MentionAgent stores the price exactly as they wrote it. Between 19 August and 26 September 2026, 75 publishers quoted a US dollar price for inserting a link into an existing article. We counted each publisher once and took their standard (not sensitive-niche) insertion price.

Insertion price askedShare of the 75 publishers
$25 or less13%
$50 or less21%
$100 or less44%
$150 or less64%
$200 or less77%
$300 or less87%
$500 or less96%

The lowest ask was $8 and the highest $750. The median publisher asked $125, below the $177 entry price of the typical vendor above, and 44% asked $100 or less, a price only six of the 14 vendors offer at their cheapest tier.

This is not a like-for-like comparison. A vendor chooses the site, checks it, handles payment and replaces the link if it goes; a direct quote is an asking price from a site that happened to reply, and it buys none of that. The comparison of direct quotes against a vendor's price for the same DR band is in our FATJOE alternatives analysis. What the direct quotes show is how much of a vendor's price is the work around the link rather than the link.

Some of the quotes, trimmed to the insertion price:

  • "$50 per existing article (link insertion)", against $100 for a guest post on the same site
  • "$125 for link insertion in an old article", against $250 per general guest post
  • "Link insertion into an existing post: 1 dofollow $200, 2 dofollow $300, Nofollow $100"
  • "$50 for a single link placement, $40 per link for a package of 4, $20 per link for bulk collaborations of 5 or more"
  • "$300 for a permanent placement in a relevant existing article"

Is a niche edit cheaper than a guest post?

Usually, but not always. Sixty of the 75 publishers priced a guest post in the same reply, which lets us compare the two on the same site:

  • 42 of 60 asked less for the insertion.
  • 11 of 60 asked the same for either.
  • 7 of 60 asked more for the insertion than for a new post.

Across the 60, the median insertion was $120 against a median guest post of $160, and the typical insertion cost 78% of the same site's guest post price (the middle half ran from 60% to the same price). Where the insertion was cheaper, the median saving was $50.

The seven that charged more for insertions, such as "Guest Post: $250, Link Insertion: $300", are pricing the page rather than the work. An article that already ranks and gets traffic is worth more to a buyer than a new post with none, and a few site owners know it. Vendors do not all price that in: on 1 October 2026 FATJOE charged the same $81 to $513 for a niche edit as for a new blogger outreach post in the same DR band.

Sensitive niches cost more

Ten of the 75 publishers listed a higher price for sensitive topics in the same reply. The premium ranged from a few dollars to several times the standard rate:

  • "$80 regular, $100 Casino/CBD/Link Insertion, $90 Loan/Crypto"
  • "General post $100, AI related $200, link insert $150, casino/betting/forex $250, dating/adult $350"
  • "$225 standard general niche guest post or link insertion, $300 essay writing/crypto links, $450 restricted niches"
  • "$120 per link insertion into existing content, $600 firm for grey niche"

If your site is in gambling, crypto, CBD, adult, lending or essay writing, expect both a higher price and fewer sites willing to take the link at all. Many vendor tiers exclude these topics or add a surcharge.

What a monthly budget buys

Per-link pricing makes the maths simple and the total linear. At $1,000 a month:

Price pointPer linkLinks for $1,000
Cheapest DR-tiered vendor entry (Rhino Rank)$6016
Median direct publisher ask$1258
Median vendor entry tier$1775
Typical DR 60+ vendor tier$4502

Every month after that costs the same again. Our guide to what backlinks cost puts these numbers next to guest posts and agency retainers, and buying backlinks covers where Google's link spam policy draws the line, which applies to a paid insertion the same way it applies to a paid post.

When a price is too low

Thirteen percent of the direct quotes were $25 or less, and the lowest vendor price on the page is $30. A price that low is not always a scam, but it usually means the site accepts links from anyone, and a page that already carries a dozen unrelated paid links passes little value to the next one. Before paying at the bottom of the range:

  • Ask for the exact URL of the article, and look at how many other commercial outbound links it already carries.
  • Check whether the page ranks for anything and whether the site's traffic is real, not a spike from a few months ago.
  • Check the topic. A link from an unrelated page is cheap for a reason; see our guide to relevant backlinks.

Earning the link instead

Every price on this page is per link, and it never gets cheaper with time. The alternative is to ask for the mention on its merits: find articles already written about your subject, and pitch the person who wrote each one a reason to mention you. Some say yes for free, some say no, and some reply with a price, which is where the 75 quotes above came from. You see each price and decide.

MentionAgent does that outreach: it finds relevant articles in your niche, finds the writer's email, drafts a pitch tied to that specific article and sends it after you approve it. It costs from $99/mo flat, whatever the number of links, which is how the pricing works. It is slower per link than ordering from a vendor, and a site can say no. If you would rather buy, the white hat link building guide covers what to do alongside it.

See the price before you pay it

MentionAgent pitches the writers of articles in your niche and brings back their answer: a yes, a no, or a price you can accept or ignore. From $99/mo flat, no per-link fees.

Frequently asked questions

How much do niche edits cost?

About $80 per link at DR 10+, $135 at DR 30+, $330 at DR 50+ and $425 at DR 60+, going by 14 vendors checked on 27 September 2026 ($60 to $513 overall). Publishers quoting MentionAgent users directly asked a median of $125 for a link insertion.

Are niche edits cheaper than guest posts?

Usually. Of 60 publishers who priced both, 42 asked less for the insertion, 11 asked the same and 7 asked more. The typical insertion cost 78% of the same site's guest post price.

What is the cheapest niche edit service?

GuestNiche sells single insertions for $30 with no authority tiers. Among vendors that price by site authority, Rhino Rank's curated links start at $60 and Vladenza's link insertions at $70, both checked 27 September 2026.

Why are some niche edits $500?

Most vendors price by the host site's Domain Rating and traffic, and the DR 60+ or DR 70+ tier sits at $400 to $513 at Vettted, The Website Flip, Reporter Outreach, FATJOE and The HOTH. Longer replacement cover is often limited to that top tier.

Do niche edit prices include a guarantee?

Most do, but the length varies from 3 months at SirLinksalot to lifetime at FATJOE. Six or twelve months is most common, and some vendors state no term at all.
