Plumbing Write For Us
84 candidate pages were found and fetched. Only 25 were live pages inviting contributions, the lowest pass rate of the five verticals we crawled.
10 clear Open PageRank 2 and all 10 survived hand review. That is the list.
37 of the 84 were off-topic, by far the biggest single cause of failure. Searching this phrase mostly finds marketing agencies writing about plumbers, not publishers serving them.
5 more were selling placements. In the trades that share is unusually high relative to the size of the pool.
From our own contact database of 22,352 addresses gathered across customer campaigns, the shape of who you are actually writing to in the trades is not what outreach advice assumes.
7,507 of 22,352 contacts, 33.6%, are role inboxes: info@, editor@, contact@, hello@ and similar, rather than a named person.
Small trade and home services sites are the worst case for this. Many have no bylined author anywhere on the site, so there is no named address to find.
That changes the pitch. A message written to a person, sent to info@, reads as a template. A message written to the publication does not.
Contacts collected 7 March to 27 August 2026 across 25 workspaces. Role-inbox share is computed from the address prefix.
Plumbing is the clearest example in this batch of a search phrase that looks far more promising than the market behind it. Ninety percent of the first page for this query is not plumbing publishers at all, and the crawl makes the reason precise.
Why this list is short, and why that is the honest answer
Of 84 candidates, 37 failed as off-topic. That is a rejection rate no other vertical in this batch came close to, and it is not a defect in the search.
The pages that failed were mostly agencies, the same population that dominates roofing and barely appears in automotive. A marketing firm that serves plumbing contractors publishes a contributor page, ranks for the phrase, and is not a plumbing publication in any sense useful to someone wanting a placement in front of homeowners or trade readers.
A further 14 were blocked, 5 were selling placements and 3 were unreachable. What survived was 25 verified pages, of which 10 clear the Open PageRank 2 floor.
We could pad this list by dropping the authority floor or by including the agencies. Both would make the page longer and less useful, so we have not.
Plumbing sites accepting guest posts
Ten sites, sorted by Open PageRank. Several are general home improvement publications with a dedicated plumbing submission path rather than plumbing-only titles, which is what this vertical looks like in practice.
| Site | Open PageRank | Submission page | Domain |
|---|---|---|---|
| Homeib | 3.93 | /write-for-us | homeib.com |
| Livinator | 3.77 | /write-for-us-submit-a-guest-post | livinator.com |
| Construction How | 3.75 | /construction-write-for-us | constructionhow.com |
| Dream Lands Design | 3.36 | /write-for-us | dreamlandsdesign.com |
| houseofarchitectures.com | 2.56 | /write-for-us-plumbing | houseofarchitectures.com |
| Detech Source | 2.52 | /plumbing-business-write-for-us | detechsource.com |
| fifti-fifti.net | 2.48 | /write-for-us-plumbing | fifti-fifti.net |
| Urban Splatter | 2.46 | /write-for-us-plumbing | urbansplatter.com |
| 907 Heating and Plumbing | 2.20 | /write-for-us-plumbing | 907heatingplumbing.com |
| Roof It Wise! | 2.19 | /write-for-us-plumbing | roofitwise.com |
Note how many of these paths end in the word plumbing. That is a deliberate signal from the publisher: they have built a separate landing page per trade because they take contributions across all of them. If a site accepts plumbing it will usually accept roofing, and our roofing list shares several of these domains for exactly that reason.
The paid share is higher in the trades
Five of eighty-four plumbing candidates named a price on the page itself. Against a verified pool of twenty-five, that is a meaningful proportion of the real market rather than a rounding error.
The reason is straightforward. Home services is a high-value commercial niche with contractors competing on local search, so the demand for placements is strong and publishers have noticed. Where demand is strong, submission pages turn into rate cards.
If you are quoted a price, that is advertising and it should carry the sponsored attribute. Our guide to what backlinks actually cost sets out the range publishers ask for, drawn from quotes they sent us directly.
Writing something a plumbing editor will take
The single most common rejected pitch in this vertical is a general homeowner tips article. Every contractor marketing team produces them, editors receive them constantly, and they carry no information the site does not already have.
What gets accepted tends to be specific and slightly awkward: a failure mode and what it costs, a code change and what it means for a job, a seasonal problem with real numbers attached. Emergency callouts, water damage claims and the economics of a repair against a replacement all work because they are concrete. Our pitch template covers how to frame one in an email.
Because a third of contacts in this space are role inboxes, address the publication rather than a person you have guessed at. There is more on finding the right address in our guide to finding a site's publisher.
Local sites and national sites are different purchases
One entry in the list above is a working plumbing company that publishes and accepts contributions. The rest are national home improvement publications. Those are two different things and they are worth different amounts depending on what you sell.
If you are a contractor working one metro area, a placement on a regional or local site reaches people who could actually hire you. A national home improvement blog reaches a much larger audience of whom almost none are in your service area.
If you sell software, tools or materials to the trade, the reverse holds. National reach is the point and the local site is a rounding error.
The mistake is treating both as the same line in a spreadsheet because they both produced a link. What the placement is for should decide which of the ten you pitch, and in most cases you should not pitch all ten.
What a trade placement is actually worth
Home services carries some of the highest commercial value per click in search, which is why the paid share of this vertical is what it is. It also means the temptation to buy rather than pitch is stronger here than anywhere else in this batch.
Buying is not automatically wrong, but it changes the accounting. A paid placement is advertising, it should be marked sponsored, and marked links do not carry ranking value. If you are paying for a link and expecting rankings from it, you are paying for something you have agreed not to receive.
The pitched placement is slower and has a lower hit rate. What it has instead is an editor choosing to publish you, which is the signal the whole system is built to detect. Ten of those beat a hundred bought ones, and they do not carry the same risk.
Our white hat link building guide covers where that line sits, and buying backlinks covers what actually happens when you cross it.
What to do when ten sites is not enough
Ten is a real answer to the question this page asks, but it is not a marketing plan. If you exhaust this list and need more, the productive direction is sideways rather than deeper.
The adjacent verticals share publishers. A home improvement title accepting plumbing will usually accept roofing, HVAC and general renovation, so the same relationship covers several subjects. Our roofing list and real estate guest posting sites both overlap this audience.
Local and regional media is the other direction, and it is underused by contractors. A city newspaper, a regional business journal or a local homeowner association newsletter reaches exactly the people who can hire you, and almost none of them appear in a contributor footprint search because they do not publish a write-for-us page.
Those have to be approached individually rather than found in a list, which is slower. It is also why they are not saturated, and why a single placement there frequently outperforms the whole of a national list.
Frequently asked questions
Why are there only ten plumbing sites on this list?
Because that is how many verified. Of 84 candidate pages, 37 were off-topic, mostly marketing agencies serving plumbing contractors rather than publications, 14 were blocked, 5 were selling placements and 3 were unreachable. Twenty-five verified, and ten of those clear the Open PageRank 2 floor we apply across all our lists.
Do plumbing sites charge for guest posts?
More often than most verticals, relative to the size of the pool. Five of the 84 plumbing candidates named a price directly on their submission page. Home services is a competitive commercial niche, so demand for placements is high and some publishers have turned their contributor page into a rate card.
Are these plumbing publications or home improvement sites?
Mostly the latter, and that is what the vertical genuinely looks like. Several run a separate submission path for each trade, which is why some domains appear on both this list and our roofing list. Pure plumbing publications that accept outside contributions are rare.
What should a plumbing guest post be about?
Something specific enough that the site could not have written it without you. General homeowner maintenance tips are the most common submission and the most common rejection. Failure modes with costs attached, code changes, seasonal problems and repair against replacement economics all get further.
Who do I send a plumbing pitch to?
Usually a role inbox. Across our contact database of 22,352 addresses, 33.6 percent are info@, editor@, contact@ or similar rather than a named person, and small trade sites are the worst case because they often carry no bylines at all. Write to the publication rather than guessing at a name.
